Football for everyone ...

Under 10's first tournament report

Wildcats Under 10's took part in the first tournament of the season giving the team their first run out since last season. It was always going to be a tough set of games as the team were one short as Ellen Stevens unfortunately became ill the day before despite her really pushing herself during training to be ready for this.

Three games were played, two against seperate teams from Wembdon and a third team from Bishops Lydeard. The first game against Wembdon ended in a well deserved draw with goals from Maddison Davey who throughout showed great skill on the ball. Assistance in pushing forward came from Ella Wood and Kelly Poole both in Midfield who fought for every ball. The second game against the second Wembdon team was harder as the opposition fielded a much stronger team which led to the Wildcats finishing a goal down despite some great defending from Bethany Trowbridge-Brown and Caitlin Thomas. Amy Rodger in defence also gave a good show stopping the ball from hitting the back of the net. Unfortunately the thrid game was against a very good Bishops Lydeard team who managed to break through to easily come out winners.

The team however put a good show on and should be very proud of themselves and we look forward to the next tournament in December.
