Our first team’s return to the Playing Field last night (Wednesday, September 18th) was foiled by a floodlight issue.

After 13 successive away games, we took on Barnstaple Town in the premier division of the Jewson Western League.

But after an hour of the match, which was delicately poised at 0-0, a problem with the lights on one side of the pitch meant the referee had to abandon proceedings.

The Tangerines had given a good account of themselves against a team bidding to go top of the table. The game will now be replayed on a date to be fixed.

Ironically, the club have submitted a planning application to install new floodlights at the ground.

The first team are in home action again on Saturday when they take on Sidmouth Town in the second qualifying round of the Isuzu FA Vase.
