A fantastic effort from the U11s saw them secure a 1-1 draw against North Curry playing home at Rockwell Green.

The Wildcats finished 1-0 up in the first half with an unbelievable goal from Hetty H, her first of the season.

North Curry played equally well in the second half with a brilliant performance and many shots on target.

Wildcats’ Remi S made some cracking saves; however North Curry secured the equaliser taking the score to 1-1.

Player-of-the-match was an easy choice with Maria G bringing home the trophy for her hard work in defence.

Both teams displayed impeccable teamwork and sportsmanship – an enjoyable morning all round.

The U12s were away at Somerton and Wellington started on the front foot, dominating possession and dictating play in the home half.

With their free-flowing football they never looked back. Summer O scored twice and with goals from Mary H and Bella W, they went in at half time 4-0 up.

The second half followed suit, allowing opportunities to the whole squad. They created some great link-up play in midfield and allowed multiple chances on goal.

Amelia S added a goal and Summer O completed her first hat-trick, a tremendous effort. The game finished 6-0 and continued their unbeaten start to the season. Player of the match went to Mary H.

The U13s (pictured above) welcomed Huish Tigers to the Rec for their first home game on the sloping pitch.

The game was played at pace with Huish Tigers making the most of the conditions in the first half, using their pace on the slope to their advantage and creating scoring opportunities.

The break allowed the Wildcats to reassess their options and this told in second half performance, creating a more even contest between both teams.

It allowed the Wildcats to gain a foothold in the game and create well worked chances.

The result of 8-0 to Huish Tigers did not reflect the effort put in by the entire squad – their workrate and willingness to learn and adapt can only be commended.

Players of the match were Faith D for making some great saves and to captain Leah W in defence for rallying the squad.

Ivy E also deserves a special mention for having the courage to go in goal for the first time and make some fantastic saves.

The U14s made the short trip to Ilminster to play against the early league leaders.

The game started evenly with chances at both ends but confusion in the Wildcats box led to an own goal to give Ilminster the lead.

Undeterred, the Wildcats found their passing shoes and a good finish from Emilia S levelled the scores.

Another well worked goal and an excellent header from Ilminster’s play maker meant the score was 3-1 at half time.

Following some tactical changes at the interval, the Wildcats had much the better of the second half and worked tirelessly but unfortunately couldn’t convert an opportunity which resulted in their first defeat of the season.

While the score didn’t go their way, the resilience shown to not give up and fight to the final whistle was admirable.

Player of the match went to Lleya C for her efforts in both in defending and enabling counter attacking play.
