Our boys have been in action again over the weekend and here’s the round-up from the U10s and two U12s sides.

It was a bit of a mixed bag for the Wellington U10s squad as they took on Galmington.
After a two-week break from matches, the team looked a bit rusty to start off.
They started the day playing some decent passing football, but it wasn’t quite up to their usual high standards.
The lads just couldn’t seem to find that killer instinct and rhythm which makes their play so effective. At times, they showed flashes of the quality we know they possess, but they struggled to sustain it for long stretches of the games.
When the final whistle blew, the Wellington squad had recorded a win, a draw, and two defeats on the day. The scorers were Rex Beatty with a brace, and Kohen Woodgate.
Despite the mixed results, the coaching staff will probably feel the players learned a lot – difficult matches are where the real growth happens.
A big thank-you as always out to kit sponsor Roadchef and jacket sponsor R&M Motor for their continued support of the young squad.
All in all, it was a bit of an uneven performance from the Wellington boys but the signs were there that, with a bit more match sharpness, they’ll be back to their best in no time.

Wellington Town U12s extended their winning streak to four matches with a hard-fought 2-1 victory away to Bridgwater Wolves.
Wellington opened the scoring 20 minutes into the game when Freddie Andrews coolly converted a penalty after Cass Letten was bundled over in the box.
The breakthrough gave Wellington the momentum and they doubled their lead ten minutes later when Charlie McAlpine scored to take his goal tally for the season into double figures.
Freddie Andrews nearly made it 3-0 early in the second half with a stunning free kick from the halfway line. His audacious effort was tipped on to the crossbar by the Bridgwater goalkeeper.
The home side fought back in the second half, pulling one back through a penalty on 50 minutes. Despite Bridgwater’s late pressure, Wellington’s defence, marshalled by Arthur House and Freddie Andrews, stood firm to secure the three points.
Man-of-the-match award was shared between Freddie Andrews, captain Elliott Tooze, and Arthur House (pictured) for their outstanding contributions.
Town now sit second in the table, setting up an exciting clash on Saturday against third-placed Huish Tigers.
With momentum on their side, Wellington will be eager to keep their winning streak alive as they push for the top spot in the league.

Wellington United U12s continue pushing throughout the season and secured their latest win, against Minehead Eagles.
Two minutes in, Wellington took the lead thanks to Sonny Rich’s screamer of a goal assisted by Theo Keep.
The game remained end-to-end in the first half, ending 1-0 at half time,
Both teams came out after the break trying for vital goal which led to a relatively even half until right back Vinnie Taylor pushed up to get in the mix and found the back of the net assisted by Zach Wright.
With Wellington comfortably 2-0 up, Minehead finally found a way through to get a goal back literally as the final whistle blew.
Well done to man-of-the-match Harry Newstead and player-of-the-match Benedict Webley.
