Wellington AFC were fundraising for St Margaret’s Hospice at our game on Saturday.
The Christmas at the Club event was launched by Wellington Silver Band playing a selection of carols and festive songs ahead of kick-off.
There was mulled cider and mince pies available, many supporters donned Christmas jumpers for the occasion and the club donated the proceeds of its matchday raffle.
A spokesperson said: “Many thanks to everyone for supporting our fundraising and particularly to Wellington Silver Band for getting things off to such a rousing start.
“We’ll be collecting again at our Boxing Day game against Buckland Athletic (kick-off 1pm) and announce the final total raised as soon as we have it.”
Unfortunately, the festive joy didn’t make its way on to the pitch – the Tangerines lost 2-0 to Torpoint Athletic.
