Wildcats U12s had a tightly contested away fixture against Pen Mill.

U12s – Scarlett H with Stuart Sutton.

The game kicked off with some intense battles in midfield and the Wildcats showcasing their dominance in possession.

Mary H and Bella W were relentless in their efforts, effectively moving the ball into wide areas.

Scarlett H was particularly active on the left flank, and it was from there that Wellington scored the only goal of the game.

She skilfully turned beat her defender and delivered a precise ball across goal, where Bella W was perfectly positioned to finish.

The game was keenly battled out until half-time: 1-0

In the second half, Wildcats continued to apply pressure, but they couldn’t find a second goal. Resolute defending denied an equaliser meaning the match concluded with a hard-fought 1-0 victory.

Player-of-the-match went to Scarlett H for an excellent display.

The Wildcats, remaining unbeaten can be proud of the entire squad’s performance. A final mention must also go to the keeper and defence, for helping keep another clean sheet – making it five goals conceded in nine games this season.

An excellent game between the Wildcats U16s and Huish Tigers – two teams at the lower end of the table – ended in a 1-1 draw at Court Fields.

U16s – Milly Howe and Frankie Tong.

Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, Wildcats struggled to convert their superiority into goals – on another day they could have comfortably scored three or four.

The first half saw Wildcats pushing forward, but they found themselves trailing at the break after a Huish Tigers goal midway through the half.

However, Wildcats remained resilient, and their determination paid off in the second half. Their equaliser came courtesy of a stunning free kick from Katie Selley, marking her birthday in style.

Lola Hamlyn came agonisingly close, striking the crossbar, while Lauren Newberry, Bethany Harber, Orlaith Colegate, and Milly Howe all tested the Tigers defence.

Frankie Tong, impressive on her debut, was player-of-the-match, having slotted into the midfield with ease.

Wildcats can take pride in their performance and look forward to taking a few more wins as the season runs into the latter stages.
