After a week off, the Wildcats U11s were back in action, away to North Curry. With a 1-1 draw at home earlier in the season, this game was always going to be a tough proposition.

U11s – Summer H.

North Curry came out the stronger and had some early chances, soon finding themselves 1-0 up. After the restart, the match was end-to-end, but it was North Curry who edged the scoreline: Half-time 3-0.

The second half saw the Wildcats with a spring in their step but, despite their best efforts, the game ended 6-0.

Special mention must go to player-of-the-match Summer H for her tireless work in midfield, Remi S for some goal stopping saves and Hetty H for being a constant thorn in the North Curry defence.

Well done girls – on to the cup game next week.

Wildcats U12s faced off against the Huish Tigers in a home match.

U12s – Isla J with Aaron Adams.

Wildcats got off to a strong start, taking the lead just ten minutes into the game with a stunning long-range strike from Bella W which found the bottom corner.

They continued to create opportunities, with Summer O coming close to scoring on a couple of occasions. Despite their best efforts, the scoreline remained as a 1-0 lead at the break.

Some excellent link-up play between Amelia S and Iyla J resulted in Iyla doubling the Wildcats tally.

Shortly after, Amelia S scored herself, getting behind the defence and finishing with finesse. Iyla J then added three more goals to her tally, with her fourth coming from outside the box, lobbing the goalkeeper beautifully.

Player-of-the-day went to Iyla J for her outstanding work rate and positive attitude.

A big shoutout to the goalkeeper and defence who have now gone four games without conceding a goal.

Wildcats U13s travelled to Watchet and produced their best performance to of the season.

U13s – Jason Lockyer with Cheyenne C.

Watchet were stopped in their tracks with the few opportunities they made. Georgie L in defence making some key challenges and to player-of-the-day Cheyenne C, playing out of position, was fantastic in bridging the gap between defence and midfield.

Wildcats’ only real chance in the first half came from London A who made a great play from her own half and was unfortunate not to get a shot away. Shortly before half-time watchet scored twice in quick succession, ending the half 2-0 up.

Just minutes into the second half, Cheyenne C scored her first, breaking through after applying consistent pressure. Now only one goal behind, Wildcats’ Casey V challenged the Watchet defence.

With the hosts scoring four further goals, Wildcats kept their heads up and their performance strong keeping out the Watchet attack.

It was no surprise when Cheyenne C scored her second of the day after some good link up play with Seren P in the middle of the park.

Wildcats were close to adding to their tally with Faith D hitting the woodwork and Cheyenne getting a couple more shots away. Full-time: 6-2.

Wildcats U14s welcomed Pen Mill to Court Fields for their penultimate home game of the season.

U14s Georgia Purdy with Darcey B.

From the opening whistle, superb interlinking play between Faith N and Emilia S, together with Lleya C from deeper in midfield caused countless problems for the visitors’ defence.

Emilia S opened the scoring, and Faith N soon added her first which set the tone for the rest of the match. A superb freekick from 20 yards from

Faith N left the keeper with no chance and Emilia S powered through a physical defence to make it 4-0.

Lleya C hit the post with a 25-yard effort and, a minute before half-time, Faith N scored yet another cracking goal to complete a first half hat-trick. Half-time: 5-0.

Pen Mill were much brighter in the second half, creating a lot more runs down the channels and through the middle.

To their credit, Wildcats kept their composure and started to counterattack relentlessly. Emilia S again scored to complete her hat-trick and, shortly after, added a fourth.

Lleya C scored a well-deserved goal from outside the box to end the game at 8-0.

Changes were made to give all the squad different challenges and important playing time for the games ahead.

Defender Darcey B was named as player-of-the-match – her efforts in both halves to sweep several through balls and make last ditch tackles was testament to her determination.

Eleven wins in a row keep the Wildcats in top spot.
