On a crisp Saturday morning, our U10 boys embarked on an exciting journey to Lympstone to play their first nine-a-side game, a thrilling preview of what next season holds.

The young Wellington squad showcased their burgeoning talent and teamwork, delivering an impressive performance which left spectators eagerly anticipating their future matches.

From the first whistle, Wellington demonstrated their ability to play cohesive and dynamic football.

The team’s passing game was particularly noteworthy, as they moved the ball fluidly across the pitch, creating numerous opportunities.

In goal, Tom Kennen was a standout performer, making several crucial saves which kept Wellington in the game during critical moments.

Defensively, Kohen Woodgate and Riley Lloyd were rock-solid. Their composure and effective use of the ball under pressure were instrumental in maintaining the team’s defensive integrity.

Fraser May, playing in the holding role, exhibited remarkable intelligence and versatility. His ability to drop back into the defensive line when needed provided an additional layer of security and demonstrated his excellent game awareness.

In midfield, Jude Norman and Harrison Thompson were tireless, controlling the centre of the pitch with their relentless energy and sharp decision making. Their efforts ensured Wellington maintained a strong presence in the midfield battle, dictating the tempo of the game.
