Our United U12 boys ended their league season on a high with a 7-0 home win over Rhode Lane Wanderers.

From the off, Wellington applied great pressure on the visitors with Harry Newstead finding the back of the net within the first two minutes, assisted by Zach Wright, shortly followed with another from Sonny Rich, assisted by Jack Farrington, meaning the hosts were 2-0 up in the first five minutes.

With Wellington dominating the game, Sonny again found the back of the net assisted by Jack.

The game levelled out for the remainder of the half, ending 3-0 at half-time.

The second half began with the visitors conceding a penalty, put away by Harry.

Then, 40 minutes in, Wellington had a set piece taken by centre back Oscar Boucher who also caught the rebound with a great strike to put the hosts 5-0 up.

With United firmly applying the pressure, three mins later Rhode Lane conceded another penalty, put away by Sonny to complete hit hat-trick.

Wellington keep up the pressure only for the visitors to concede yet another penalty calmly put away by Harry for him also to bag a hat-trick.

Well done to man-of-the-match Sonny and player-of-the-match Harry.

Manager Steve Newstead said: “What a great way to end our league fixtures – well done to all involved”.

Coach Richard Upham added: “This result goes to show what the boys are capable of.”
