Our Town U12 boys ended their league season on a high with a 2-1 home victory over Kingsdown Knights to secure their highest ever finish.
The young Wellington side started brightly and took the lead after 13 minutes when Charlie McAlpine produced a moment of magic, lofting the ball over the goalkeeper from 20 yards.
Their dominance continued and, in the 28th minute, Felix Emes doubled the lead with a composed finish into the bottom corner after breaking through the Knights defence.
Knights fought back and reduced the arrears on 40 minutes, setting up a tense second half.
Wellington had chances to extend their lead, but Cass Letten saw his one-on-one effort saved, and Mason Talbot’s curling 25-yard strike narrowly missed the target.
Wellington’s defence held firm, with man-of-the-match Freddie Andrews putting in a commanding display at the back to ensure his team saw out the win.
The result caps off a memorable season for Wellington, who finish third in the league, marking a significant achievement for the young squad.
