Our U10 boys rounded off their mini league campaign in impressive fashion as they travelled to Watchet for their final outing before making the step up to nine-a-side football.

The young team displayed some fantastic football throughout the day, moving the ball with real confidence and simplicity. Their passing was sharp and intelligent, frequently switching play to find the spare player and forcing Watchet to constantly shift and chase the game. It was a mature and composed performance which reflected how much progress the team has made over the season.

Across the four matches, Wellington showed a great mix of attacking flair and defensive resilience. They won two games, drew one, and narrowly lost another.

Over the course of the day, they found the net an impressive 12 times while conceding just six. The goals were shared around the team, highlighting the depth of talent across the squad.

Jack Jorge and Rex Beatty both led the line superbly, each scoring three goals. Rowan Gibbons continued his excellent form, bagging a well-earned brace, while Harry Griffiths, Louis Molloy, Harrison Thompson, and Fraser May all added their names to the scoresheet with a goal apiece. It was a brilliant all-round team effort, with every player contributing to the success.

Beyond the goals and results, the coaching team were particularly proud of the way Wellington played with a smile on their faces and stuck to their principles, even when under pressure. Their willingness to work for each other and trust in their passing game made them a joy to watch.

A huge thank you goes out to the parents for their fantastic and positive support on the sidelines, helping to create a brilliant atmosphere for the players to enjoy their football.

Special thanks also go to Roadchef, the team’s kit sponsor, and R&M Motor, who have provided jackets for the players — their support is greatly appreciated and makes a real difference to the team.

As Wellington U10s prepare for the next chapter with nine-a-side football, they can look back on their mini league journey with real pride. The future looks bright for this talented and hardworking group.
