Our Wildcats U12s concluded their impressive season in style, securing a 2-0 victory over Wincanton in the Plate Cup Final held at Street AFC.

Already crowned league champions, the Wildcats completed a remarkable double with this well-earned win.

The match began with a measured pace, as Wellington took time to settle. Strong defensive organisation and outstanding goalkeeping ensured the early stages remained goalless as Wincanton had the better of the few opportunities created.

Midfielders Mary H, Scarlett H, and Summer O began to dictate play, combining effectively to create attacking opportunities. Iyla J came close to opening the scoring, narrowly missing after a well-timed run.

As half-time approached, Wincanton intensified their pressure, but goalkeeper Tallilah T produced a superb diving save to her left to preserve the deadlock.

Wellington asserted their dominance in the second half. Ten minutes in, Madeline H-W delivered an accurate cross to the far post, where Darcey S calmly finished to put the Wildcats ahead.

Building on their momentum, Bella W powered through midfield and struck a long-range effort into the net, doubling the lead.

With a two-goal cushion, Wellington controlled the final stages of the match with composure and discipline, ultimately securing a deserved 2-0 win and completing a memorable season as double champions.

Player of the match went to Darcey S.

The victory marked an outstanding milestone for the Wildcats U12s, concluding the season playing 20 league and cup games, winning 15, drawing four, losing just once, keeping an impressive 16 clean sheets along the way, conceding just seven goals and scoring 60.

Congratulations to the team on this remarkable achievement.

A sincere thank you goes to the parents, supporters, and coaching staff for their unwavering dedication, encouragement, and commitment to the players’ development throughout the season.
