Our U9 boys held their presentations at the club to celebrate another successful season which saw both the Lions and Tigers reach the finals in Minehead to enjoy a memorable day.
Managers Sandy Patel and Mark White said: “It has been a season of progress with some new faces joining the team while keeping all the boys together from previous seasons.
“The teams have had to contend with not only adapting to a larger pitch and seven-a-side football but also FA rule changes preventing heading and throw ins. Overall they have performed really well and can be proud of their achievements.
“A big thanks to all the parents for their support throughout the season through wind and rain and especially Kat White and Hannah Gibson-Patel for organising catering for home matches. This not only helps to raise funds for the club but also makes the matchdays a little bit more special for both sets of supporters.
“We are both really proud of the boys – not only from the way they approach the matches and the commitment to training they have shown throughout the season, but also the behaviour they demonstrate on match days towards officials and opposing teams.
“We believe they are demonstrating the values of Wellington AFC and the Football Association of fair play and respect, which is really important to both of us, more so than simply winning football matches.
“Wellington U9s would also like to say a big thank our sponsors Howdens and VPK Packaging for our kits and Castle Holiday Parks for our training wear.”
