Our Wanderers U13 boys played their third tournament in eight days, making the short trip to Staplegrove where their two teams had a great day.

The Wanderers team on pitch two made it to the final after topping their group with two wins and two draws

Wanderers on pitch one did very well too with one win, two draws and a defeat getting them into the quarter-finals.

They reached the semis on penalties to face a stiff task against VPR. A close match ended in a draw but this time the boys suffered defeat in the shootout.

The team on pitch two faced off against Perry Street in the final and, as both sides had not lost all day, it was also expected to be a close game

Perry Street who took the lead and, with time running out, supersub Oli T fired home after a scramble in the box to send it to penalties.

It was nervous times as Wanderers missed the first kick but keeper Evan Aspin made some great saves and the boys held their nerve to achieve their first tournament win.

A great day for the Wanderers with a win and a semi-final spot  – both teams should be proud of their achievements.
