Well done to Tom Richards and Jon Stanyard – two of our youth coaches – who have been presented with a club award to mark six seasons of running their side.
The squad are currently preparing for the new campaign in the U16s section of the Taunton and District Youth League.
A club spokesperson said: “A big thank-you from the players, their parents and Wellington AFC as a whole for all their time and efforts.”
Tom and Jon, who are helped by Luke Bryant, said: “We are very proud of the boys.
“We have watched them grow into young men along the way with the high of winning the cup two seasons ago at Taunton Town’s ground – a day they won’t forget.
“We have now moved down into division two so hopefully the boys can have an enjoyable and competitive season before moving up to U18s.”
The squad currently train on Wednesdays at the Rec from 6pm to 7pm.
From September, they we will be on the Court Fields 3G pitch on Mondays, again from 6pm to 7pm.
New players are welcome – they are particularly looking for a goalkeeper.
