Stitch2Print Devon & Exeter League premier division: Wellington Reserves 3, Lyme Regis 1
Our Reserves came from behind to record an excellent win over Lyme Regis at the Carly Press Ground yesterday (Saturday).

Man-of-the-match was Sam Poole who is pictured, right, with Tom Hawkings, keeper and match sponsor (We Create Residential).
It was their first home game of the season and player-manager Mark Owen was hoping to build on the fine away victory at East Budleigh last time out.
In front of a bumper crowd, Wellington the game well, playing up the hill, and should have taken the lead when Jack Bryant ran clear on goal but unfortunately his effort was saved by the keeper.
With 30 minutes on the clock, the visitors took the lead. Wellington should have cleared a loose ball and, as the ball broke to a Lyme player on the edge of the box, he hit a low shot through a crowd of players and past keeper Tom Hawkings.
Owen needed a quick response from his players and, with five minutes left of the half, Wellington drew level when Josh Baker managed to get on to a bobbling ball in the box and guide it past the keeper from close range – half-time 1-1.
The second half started strongly for Wellington, now playing down the hill, and they kept on putting pressure on the Lyme defence. It would not be long before their second goal came, and what a goal it was!
With a free kick award just outside the angle of the box, up stepped Ben Evett to curl an outstanding shot around the wall and high into the top corner to turn the game around in Wellington’s favour.
That gave Owen the chance to introduce U18s player Ollie Ackland into the game.
As the home team kept the pressure on. a third goal came along as Sam Bryant met a corner to net with an unstoppable header from close range.
With 20 minutes left, all Wellington had to do was keep it tight and. with Sam Poole and Ollie Nott both outstanding in midfield, they saw the game out for a fine 3-1 win.
The lads would thank everyone who came along to cheer them on.
