Our Town U15 boys hoped to build on their opening day draw as they hosted Watchet Town.
They faced the camera ahead of the game, rear from left, Dan Perry of The Gutter Doctor, (sponsor), Jayden G, Sam A, Ollie B, Quinn W, Alfie P, George B, Ryan M, Zak F, Douglas K, Leo M. Front, Reece B, Jack F, Finn H, Seb N, Jack B, Fletcher L, Matthew T, Danny P.
Welly started the brighter of the two teams, Fletcher L going close twice inside of ten minutes as Watchet looked to ride out the early pressure.
But two goals inside four minutes from the hosts set the tone of the afternoon – Fletcher rounding the keeper on 12 minutes to open the scoring before Jack F doubled the lead only moments later.
Two goals up, and enjoying the majority of territory and possession, Welly continued to look threatening throughout the first half – Sam A’s free kick just before the break narrowly missing the target.
However, it was Watchet who found themselves back in the game just after the half-time, a goal on 48 minutes halving the deficit.
But Town quickly regained their composure – and the lead – after Zak F volleyed home from range to restore their two-goal advantage.
While Town threatened to snatch a fourth in the closing stages. they’ll be incredibly satisfied with their deserved 3-1 victory.
