Our U9s boys were among sides across the club holding a minute’s silence in memory of Harry Basham.
They also published a heartfelt tribute to Harry, a former youth player who sadly lost his life in a tragic accident on October 24th.
It read as follows:
Today, before we play, we pause to remember Harry Basham — just 17, taken far too soon.
Harry was brilliant, funny, and full of life.
Many of you may know, he was a dedicated player in our very own coach Pete’s team.
He gave everything on the pitch and inspired everyone around him.
His love for football and his warm spirit will never be forgotten. As we stand in silence, we hold his family, friends, and teammates in our thoughts.
From the Wellington U9 AFC family — always in our hearts. 🧡
