Young people from across the Wellington AFC community are invited to take part in a youth leadership event next month.
Organised by the Wellington Wildcats Youth Council, it takes place in the clubhouse on Friday, April 10th, from 10am to 4pm.
The event aims to build confidence, develop new skills, and inspire positive change through football.
Organisers say the ‘Champions in Training’ day will introduce participants to the wide range of roles and opportunities available within the game.
“Young people will have the chance to hear from local experts working at different levels of football and explore pathways in areas such as club administration, youth leadership, and refereeing.
“The event is ideal for anyone interested in getting involved beyond playing — whether through volunteering, working in football, or choosing college courses which support future careers in the sport.
“Attendees will be able to learn more about the opportunities available and receive advice on next steps.”
Event lead Georgia Purdy added: “I really want this event to help young people realise they are the future of the game and can help shape change.
“The leaders who are organising the workshops are super excited and eager to share their knowledge and empower those who attend.
“We’re also very grateful to Talk to Piers Mortgage Advice for sponsoring the day.”
The event is free to attend, although participants are asked to bring their own lunch, drinks, and snacks.
Young people aged 11 to 16 can sign up by CLICKING HERE with the deadline for registration set for April 5th.
