Somerset County Women’s League: Bishops Lydeard 5, Wellington 0
The ladies battled well against a promotion-hunting team throughout the whole game, keeping the centre backs and central midfield consistent in both halves.
Some superb saves by goalkeeper Maxine Pontin (player of the match) enabled Wellington to concede just two goals in the first half.
Wellington had a much improved amount of possession in comparison to their recent friendly but were unable to put the ball in the net in either half.
The whole team put in a sterling performance given the ability of Lydeard and their next game is on Sunday, 29th September, at home to Keynsham.
