Pre-season friendly: Bridgwater & Taunton College 0, Wellington 6

Wellington played their third pre-season friendly against Bridgwater & Taunton College on their 3G pitch with the home team providing lively opposition and enjoying good possession early on.

Wellington, however, soon got into their stride and played some attractive football although it was not until late in the first half that Joe Chamberlain, making a welcome appearance, unleashed a fierce left-foot shot, which gave the home keeper no chance to open the scoring.

Jesse Howe, who had earlier rattled the crossbar, was then upended in the box for Sam Towler to step up and convert the penalty to make it 2-0 at the break.

Wellington dominated the second half and added four more goals – Eli Collins found the corner of the net from outside the penalty area, Jake Quick took a return pass in a deft move before placing his shot home, Towler got his second of the night with a thumping drive and captain Glen Wright made it six with a beautifully struck left-foot shot from the edge of the box.

Squad: Shay Allen, Mark Cornish, Tom Stone, Jason Quick, Glen Wright, Sam Towler, Miles Quick, Jack Bryant, Jake Quick, Jesse Howe, Joe Chamberlain, Rob Hall, Jack Bown-Porter, Eli Collins, Luciano Jesus.
