Somerset Senior Cup: Peasedown Welfare Miners 4, Wellington Reserves 1

Our Reserves bowed out of the Somerset cup at the first hurdle at Peasedown Welfare Miners near Bath.

Early indecisions cost the Tangerines dearly with goal scoring opportunities not converted and failure to clear the lines resulted in a 2-0 deficit after only 20 minutes.

A strong finish to the half looked promising, and after full evaluation and re-focus during half time, the Tangerines came out full of optimism which was rewarded instantly by neat interplay with Jordan Sellick completing a fine move and finish.

Now, with belief, we built further strong passages of play, striking the woodwork on two occasions in our quest to get back on level terms.

However, the hosts broke with two similar long ball counter attacks to their experienced and useful strikers to take the passage into the next round.

Reserves: Jake Nichol, Lloyd Manning, Dylan Groves, Mark Owen (Capt) Connor Noble, Tom Davies, Amauri Ruiz, Oliver Nott, Rohan Poulsom, Jordan Sellick, Luke Perry. Substitutes: Wes Poulsom (for Manning), Clay Westcott (for Groves), Aaron Hawkings (for Sellick).
