Stitch2Print Devon & Exeter League division one: East Budleigh 1, Wellington 8

Our Reserves bounced back in style from the previous week’s outing with an emphatic win to complete the double over East Budleigh.

A reshuffled squad – which included three under 18s, a previous man of the match player from the A team together with coach Adam Watson donning the goalkeeper gloves – proved successful.

A quick start saw Logan Sellick set proceedings with the afternoon’s first goal before the hosts responded with a deflected shot which gave stand-in keeper Watson no chance to recover.

Wingback Wes Poulsom and striker luke Perry scored a quick brace prior to midfielder Rohan Poulsom completing a neat move for a 4-1 lead at the break.

With the ball moved quickly and effectively by all in a tangerine shirt, it was no surprise that further goals were registered in the following order: Logan, Perry, Logan to complete his hat-trick, with Perry also completing his hat-trick for a good day at the office and a happy return trip back up the motorway.

The performance and result are a welcome return to form and can be attributed to everyone involved.

Man of the match was Logan Sellick in his first start for the team and he is pictured (below) being congratulated by coach Watson.

Team: Adam Watson, Lloyd Manning, Tom Davies, Dylan Groves, Wes Poulsom, Jordan Sellick, Connor Noble (cpt), Ned Ogilvie, Rohan Poulsom, Luke Perry, Logan Sellick. Subs: Dominic Healey and Ben Fowler (both used).

There’s no game for the Reserves this coming Saturday.
