Somerset County Women’s League division two south: Wellington Ladies 0, Combe St Nicholas Ladies 0

Our Ladies welcomed Combe St Nicholas to the Playing Field in the hope of clinching a return win.

Combe certainly brought the fight and passion with them but were fiercely met with an equal winning desire from the Tangerines.

Wellington had a strong side out and managed to put the pressure on a hungry Combe side with their solid defending.

Steph Kay had a couple of brilliant chances – a shot saved by the keeper and a second going wide of the goal.

The second half saw Wellington shooting up the hill with both teams battling well and Combe were denied two chances on goal with their strikers being offside.

After a 90-minute battle the scoreline remained goalless, a fair result.

Player-of-the Match went to Kelly Dinning for her valiant performance in goal.
