There was a triple celebration for Wellington AFC yesterday (Saturday, April 20th).

The first team ensured premier division football for next season, the Reserves took another giant step towards promotion and the A team clinched their title.

A 2-0 win at Oldland Abbotonians means Wellington cannot be caught by Millbrook in the Toolstation League with only one side being relegated. Josh Lukins and Alex Cherry scored the goals.

Our Reserves won their final game of the season at the Playing Field, beating Lympstone 4-1 with goals from Luke Perry (two), Rohan Poulsom and Alfie Barrett.

They are five points clear at the top of the first division in the Stitch2Print Devon and Exeter League, with the two sides below them still having games to play.

The A team knew they had to win their last match of the campaign to lift the division one title in the West Country Drainage Services Taunton & District Saturday League.

They duly obliged with a 2-1 victory over Middlezoy Rovers Athletic at the Rec thanks to goals from Connor Porter and Jordan Sellick.
