In an exciting warm-up match ahead of their cup finals day this Saturday, our U9s travelled to Mid Devon to take on a strong Crediton team.

Playing four quarters of 15 minutes, Wellington made a disastrous start by conceding a goal in the first two minutes.

However, the resilient visitors showed great character by slowly working their way back into the game and establishing their slick passing play.

This, coupled with a much stronger defensive performance across the pitch, meant Wellington were just too strong for the hosts in the end and the game finished with an exhilarating 6-5 victory for the young Tangerines.

The goalscorers Jack Jorge (three), Jude Norman, Louis Molloy and Fraser May.

Every Wellington player played their part in this really strong team performance, winning the ball back well and then passing it around to tire out their opponents.

A special mention goes to Fraser May, Jude Norman, Harrison and Louis Molloy, who all took turns in goal, demonstrating that the team always comes first for the impressive squad.

The team would like to thank kit sponsor Roadchef and jacket sponsor R&M Motor for their support.

The boys now turn their attention to cup finals day at Minehead AFC on Saturday with a 9.30am kick-off.
