Our U9s took on Northam in a hard-fought match down in North Devon. Despite the mild weather, the football on display was anything but tame.
The young Wellington side conducted themselves excellently throughout, displaying a great attitude and closing down opponents well while playing some slick, passing football.
When the final whistle blew, Wellington had picked up three wins, one draw, and two defeats – a solid set of results which showed the team’s development.
The players are really starting to become leaders on the pitch, with lots of communication between them, and it’s great to see them growing into such talented little footballers.
The goal scorers for Wellington were: Louis Molloy (nine), Jack Jorge (five), Fraser May (three), Rowan Gibbons (two), as well as singles for George Learmonth, Oakley Stamp, Flynn Anderson, Harrison Thompson, and Rex Beatty.
It was a fantastic all-round display of football, with each aspect of the game progressing nicely for this Wellington side.
A big thank you must go to the team’s sponsor, Roadchef, for their continued support.
Also, to the parents who once again showed their commitment by making the long journey.
