Our U7 boys have celebrated a fantastic first season – they have barely tasted defeat and reached the final of two cup competitions on Saturday.
The boys held their presentation evening at the club and the special guest was Harry Kite, who has played more than 100 times for Exeter City and is currently on loan at Yeovil Town.
At the Taunton and District Cup finals, Wellington Tigers won their Bowl semi-final v Bridgwater VPR 2-0 but unfortunately lost to Tone Youth on penalties in the final.
Wellington Lions also got to the final of the Plate competition after knocking out Galmington Dragons Raiders on penalties following a 2-2 draw at full-time. They unfortunately lost 4-1 in the final to Galmington Hawks.
The boys did very well to finish runners-up in two cup competitions in their first season and will be targeting one step better this time next year.
The coaches are very proud of everything the boys have already achieved and excited about the journey ahead.
They will be registering three teams next season as U8s with the newly-formed Panthers being added to the mix.
