A programme of improvements to our facilities is continuing with the installation of new floodlights at the Playing Field.

Work started last week and today (Monday, September 1st) saw the erection of the four pylons.

The lights themselves will be added next week and are due to be used for the first time when the Tangerines host Bridgwater United in the Jewson Western League premier division on Wednesday, September 17th.

The four sets of lights – mounted near each corner of the pitch – will be more energy efficient than their predecessors.

Their installation will also mean we no longer have to take down four of the old pylons every summer to allow cricket to be played.

Other work at the Playing Field has included the provision of a new covered area for spectators and a new footpath on the clubhouse side of the ground.

Work is also starting this week to install a new perimeter fence on three sides of the pitch.
