Pre-season is in full swing with a double header of matches last night (Thursday).
The first team’s second friendly ended in a 3-0 defeat away to Bishops Lydeard of the South West Peninsula League.
Lydeard went ahead midway through the first half with a shot from out before scoring twice in the last five minutes, both from corners.
The lads complete complete their warm-up matches with a trip to Barnstaple Town next Tuesday.
There was a promising battling display from our new-look U18s as they started their friendlies away to Avonmouth.
With only 13 of the 28-strong squad available – and no recognised keeper – it was goalless at half-time with all of the hosts’ three goals coming in the final 20 minutes.
“It was a great foundation for us to build from,” said manager Tom Richards.
