The proceeds of a charity match in memory of our club stalwart and friend Neil Jenkins have been handed over to charity.
Neil, who died at the start of the year, gave more than 50 years of devoted service to Wellington AFC, firstly as a player and then as a committee member, helping out in many ways including five years as Membership Secretary and countless stints of voluntary bar work.
The charity match took place in April and, along with events either side of it, raised £1,000 for St. Margaret’s Somerset Hospice.
Pictured at the cheque presentation are, from left, Kara Frampton (Community Fundraiser for St Margaret’s), Shirley Jenkins (Neil’s wife) and Jason Hawkings (match organiser).
