to our A team on winning the Taunton Saturday League’s Seward Cup in the final – held over from last season – at Minehead AFC.
An entertaining evening saw them beat 3-1 Castlemoat Reserves on penalties after the 90 minutes had ended with the sides locked together at 2-2.
Castlemoat took the lead after 25 minutes but Wellington drew level ten minutes later, Rohan Poulsom scoring from close range after a shot had been cleared off the line.
When Jordan Sellick clinically converted a Poulsom free kick eight minutes into the second half, a Tangerines victory looked on the cards only for Castlemoat to draw level with 18 minutes remaining.
The shootout saw Wellington convert all three of their penalties while Castlemoat missed the target from two and keeper Sully Harlow pulled off a brilliant save to keep out another (pictured).
