Our Ladies held their end-of-season awards and dinner at the clubhouse on Saturday.
Manager Nyima Touray praised the squad of their efforts which had seen them finish second in their division in the Somerset County Women’s League.
She asked those present to remember supporter Frank Barker, who passed away recently, and presented his wife Jackie with a memento.
Nyima would also like to thank the Wellington AFC committee, Jeff Brown (club secretary) for assisting with morning pitch inspections, Colin Waller (welfare officer), Ken Bird (website and social media officer) plus all the team’s supporters and well-wishers.
Each of the players received runners-up medals from the league and there was also a thank-you to James and Tina Chilcott from sponsors C&C Carpets, Curtains, Beds and Blinds.
The presentations were made by Nyima and coach Anthony Trim, who also received thank-you awards.
Winners were: Leading scorer, Tash Hole; squad member, Zoe Armitage; most improved, Imogen Cashmore; players’ player, Hannah Worth; manager’s player, Lauren Smith; long service awards, Nyima Touray and Zoe Armitage.
