Our Reserves started their friendlies with a 1-1 draw at Minehead of the Somerset County League.
They took the lead on 20 minutes with a Connor Noble strike at the edge of the box before Minehead levelled on 70 minutes with a close range shot after keeper Charlie Hawkings made a superb stop.
It was a good workout for both teams.
The new management team of Nick Buttle and Adam Watson have been busy getting the Reserves ready for the new season.
Training sessions on Monday and Thursdays are in full flow with good numbers attending coach Adam’s expertly directed sessions.
The majority of last season’s squad have been in attendance, along with several new faces.
The Reserves are off to West Somerset again next Thursday (August 4th) as they play Somerset County League Premier opponents, Watchet Town. It’s a 7pm kick-off at Alcombe Rovers’ ground in Minehead.
Further pre-season games and training continue until the Devon and Exeter League campaign commences on Saturday, August 27th, away to Lympstone.
