We continued our build-up to the new season with a competitive friendly away to Axminster Town of the South West Peninsula League last night (Tuesday).
Richard Cherry’s young squad came up against opposition packed with experience and, although both sides had their chances, the home side’s more clinical finishing resulted in them running out 3-0 winners.
The Axminster scorers were Richard Hebditch, Matt Brown and Craig Veal.
The Tangerines are back in action on Friday with a short trip to Bishops Lydeard, who have moved from the Toolstation League to the Peninsula League for the new campaign.
Kick-off at Darby Way is 7pm.
