A group of friends went on the run in Wellington yesterday (Sunday, August 27th) to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK.

The adults and children originally aimed to run a total of 100km in the Recreation Ground but eventually managed an impressive 150km.

The fund-raiser was organised by John Norman, former player and now one of our youth coaches.

He said: “Thank you to everyone who contributed in aid of Bowel Cancer UK – runners, supporters and donators, you have raised money and awareness for charity but, equally important, you have shown people that you’re there for them.

“We ran 150km which was ‘easier’ than expected but only because we supported each other.

“The moral is that the road ahead can seem gruelling. If you have the support from others, it is less so. Do something positive for someone else and always show love.”

The group have so far raised more than £300 – if you’d like to donate, please CLICK HERE
