Somerset County Women’s League division two south: Yeovil Town Women Development 7, Wellington Ladies 0
It was a tough start for our Ladies in their opening league game against a very strong Yeovil side and that was demonstrated by conceding a first goal in the first minute.
Playing on an unfamiliar 3G surface with just one sub and no natural strikers, regardless of how well the Ladies played, they were only able to make one attempt at finding the opposition net. Mia narrowly missed the target after good link-up play with Chantelle.
Chloe also came close with a solo run but was met by the wingers and defence with no option in front of her but to play back.
Despite the scoreline, the team kept their spirits and heads up and played on to full time in blistering heat.
Player-of-the-match was captain Zoe who played in practically all positions on the pitch.
