Somerset County Women’s League: Wincanton Ladies 6, Wellington Ladies 1

After recording their first win of the season, this was a tough game for our Ladies.

Despite multiple shots on target by all the forwards, they came away with only one goal from player-of-the-match Tash Hole.

Attempts from Josie Beckett and Sheldon Hancock were all saved by the keeper.

Morgen Tuckett, who played in goal, made some cracking saves to limit the opposition’s goals to six.

The team held its form well in the first half before fatigue and injury in the second half meant they were down to eight, and Wincanton were able to exploit this for a comfortable win.

The Ladies return on Sunday for their first home game of the season against Crewkerne.
