Jewson Western League premier division: Wellington 2, St Blazey 0
Wellington continued to climb up the premier division table after stretching their unbeaten run to four games at the Playing Field yesterday (Saturday, April 12th).

Our man of the match was midfielder Josh Lukins and he received the award from club secretary Jane Brown on behalf of sponsors, RW Gale Ltd.
Although they had to weather an early storm, the Tangerines went on to produce an excellent team performance and were good value for the result which completed the double over St Blazey.
It was the final game in a run of five successive home fixture for Wellington and they were put under the cosh by the visitors in the opening ten minutes.
But they held firm and then took control of the first half without being able to make the breakthrough.
Indeed, they looked to have fallen behind after 39 minutes when St Blazey broke clear and George Newton knocked the ball into the net, only for the assistant referee to raise his flag for offside.
Wellington continued to press after the break and eventually took the lead after 53 minutes through Mark Cornish.
Playing his first game back after being out since January with a knee injury, the popular defender headed home at the far post from Sam Towler’s corner.
It was another Towler corner, which led to Wellington’s second goal six minutes later. This time, the ball dropped at the feet of young defender Jacob Shore and he coolly turned it over the line.
St Blazey stepped up a gear to try and get back into the game but the hosts defended well and keeper Jack McAndrews were never forced into serious action.
Wellington, who are now 13th in the table, wrap up their season with a trip to Buckland Athletic on Good Friday followed by the visit of Ivybridge Town to the Playing Field on Easter Monday.
