Our Wildcats Ladies came together at Rumwell Orchard on Saturday to celebrate a remarkable season, honouring players who had made a huge impact on and off the pitch.
Geoff Hamlyn started the evening by giving thanks go to John and Julie Sellick for their years of dedication as they moved on from the Wildcats.
Thanks were also given to supporters and sponsors while Wildcats captain Grace Winter made presentations to volunteers who had assisted the ladies during the season.
The Top Goalscorer award went to Ebony Sellick whose ability to find the net when it mattered made her a constant threat to opposition defences.
Jess Regan won Goal of the Season for two stunning strikes from the right wing — the first against Combe St Nicholas and the second against Bishops Lydeard.
Robyn Stockman received the Most Improved Player award for her dramatic progress over the course of the season.
The Clubperson of the Year award went to Grayson Kennard, a true team player who stepped up in a range of roles, not least when deputising in goal and making crucial saves in the cup victory over Frome Town.
The Peter Ayers Award, honouring character, humility and kindness, was presented to Grace Winter, who has become a role model for her teammates.
The supporters chose Leah Morrell as their Player of the Year in recognition of her relentless effort, toughness and match-winning performances.
The Manager’s award went to Emily Ayers, a defender whose calmness under pressure, discipline and ability to chip in with goals made her a key part of the team’s success.
Finally, the Players’ Player of the Year went to Robyn Stockman, reflecting the huge respect and admiration her teammates have for her contribution all season.
As the Wildcats celebrate these achievements, the future certainly looks bright for the team.
