We are delighted to announce a major sponsorship deal with local print business Carly Press.
As part of the agreement, our facilities will now be known as the Carly Press Ground at Wellington Playing Field.
The company, which is based on Chelston Business Park, is also now the club’s print and design supplier.
Mike Hall, our chairman, said: “We’re delighted to link up with Carly Press and thank them very much for their support.
“This deal will help us to continue improving our facilities and their involvement will also enable local businesses to raise their profile through our various sponsorship packages.
“It’s important to stress that the new name only relates to our facilities – we are still part of the main Wellington Playing Field which is also home to the cricket and tennis clubs.”
Mark Gladstone-Smith, managing director of Carly Press, added: “We have been part of Wellington since 1982, so it’s a privilege to support our local football club and give something back to the community which has supported us for over 40 years.
“This partnership isn’t just about our heritage though; it’s about investing in the club’s future and we’re proud to play a part in its journey of growth and improvement.”
It’s been a busy few months for Wellington AFC after we decided to improve our facilities rather than moving to a new ground at Longforth Farm.
We have provided a new spectator stand and replaced the footpath on the clubhouse side of the ground.
Work is also currently taking place to install new floodlights and a new perimeter fence on three sides of the pitch.
Anyone wishing to advertise on the fence – or sponsor Wellington AFC in other ways – should email admin@wellingtonafc.co.uk for full information.
