Leah Morrell, Grayson Kennard and Milly H were the big winners as our Wildcats Ladies celebrated their 2025-26 season at the club on Saturday evening.
The campaign began with genuine title aspirations and, at one stage, Wildcats were challenging near the top of Division One.
However, injuries, work commitments and player availability issues after Christmas hampered their progress, with the side eventually finishing a respectable sixth in the 11-team league.
Wildcats scored 26 goals and conceded just 28 in their 16 league matches, ending the season with the second-best defensive record in the division, with goalkeeper Bianca Hamlyn finishing as the division’s joint leader for clean sheets with five.
The season also saw five members of the club’s U16 squad make their senior debuts, highlighting the strength of the Wildcats development pathway and providing valuable experience for the club’s emerging talent.
At the presentation evening, Leah and Grayson shared the Players’ Player of the Year award after both enjoyed outstanding campaigns.
Leah also claimed the Top Goalscorer award after netting an impressive 15 goals during the season.
Milly H was named Manager’s Player of the Year and also collected the Goal of the Season award for her spectacular long-range strike in the cup quarter-final against Frome Town.
The Most Improved Player award went to U16 player Erin C, whose rapid development enabled her to step into the first team and establish herself at left-back when the squad was short of players.
Grayson’s dedication was further recognised, receiving the Wildcats Clubperson of the Year award, having regularly travelled significant distances to ensure the team could fulfil fixtures when numbers were low.
The prestigious Peter Ayers Award was presented to Milly H. In presenting the award, coaches praised Milly as “a skilful young player capable of scoring goals and always offering a positive, dynamic and untiring approach to the game.”
Wildcats take a short break before hosting two open training sessions – on Thursday, July 2nd and Thursday, July 9th – 7pm-8pm at Court Fields 3G.
