Taunton Saturday League: Wellington A 10, Dulverton 0

Welly A hosted Dulverton in their first home game of the season; also the first game at the playing field and in sweltering temperatures.

Wellington kicked off and scored within three minutes, every outfielder getting a touch on the ball before Liam Thorne tucked it away (Dulverton not having a single touch).

From then Welly continued and  left back Lloyd Manning surprised everyone to deliver an inch perfect cross to be headed in by Aaron Merry.

Dulverton soon resorted to frustration tactics with silly fouls aplenty; but a clinical Wellington continued to dominate and found themselves 5-0 at half time with Thorne, Tom Scarlett and Rohan Poulsom finding the net.

This allowed for rotation during the second half but the scoring continued with Thorne scoring two more as well as goals from Jordan Sellick, fresh from his training camp in Magaluf, manager Luke O’Hara and a passionate Chris Cannon. An 11th ‘goal’ from Will Hammond was questionably chalked off for offside. Wellington did play a goalkeeper and Sullivan Harlow reminded everyone he was playing by pulling off one superb save in the first half.

Momentum continues for Wellington and they play Wembdon away on Saturday.
