Western Counties Floodlit League, south division: Cheddar U18s 4, Wellington U18s 2
Wellington gave an improved performance but suffered their second defeat of the season at the hands of Cheddar.
The hosts kicked off but it was Wellington who took the game to the home side and made a positive start.
Halfway through the first half, Cheddar took the lead after getting to the byline with the ball pulled back for their centre forward to beat keeper Rutter who was again impressing in the Wellington goal. Wellington came back with skipper Broomhead prominent and were unlucky to go in at half-time 1-0 down.
After 10 minutes of the second half, Cheddar scored again to make it 2-0 before a slip led to the home side going 3-0 up.
Cheddar scored again to make it 4-0 but, with 15 minutes left Poulsom hit two goals in five minutes, and was unlucky not to get his hat-trick after the keeper tipped his header over the bar. Wellington finished strongly but were unable to score again.
