Devon and Exeter League division one: Tipton St John 1, Wellington Reserves 10

Wellington Reserves were far too strong for a depleted Tipton St John side who currently sit bottom of the division.

Wellington made the perfect start when Paolo Borges played in Josh Champion who crossed for Liam Thorne to tap in after just ten minutes.

It was soon 2-0 when Champion finished well after Thorne had hit the post. Wellington were now running riot and ran in four more before half time, Thorne and Borges adding one more each and Champion also completing his hat-trick.

Unfortunately Wellington switched off with minutes of the first half remaining and conceded so a third straight clean sheet eluded them.

The second half was more of the same. Borges scored two more to complete his hat-trick and there were also goals for defenders Tom Davies and Danny Nicholls.

This was a clinical and ruthless display and a third win on the trot which sees Wellington slowly climb the league although there will be far tougher tests in the coming weeks.

Team: Hall, Holmes, Fleet, Davies, Nicholls, Champion, Wescott, Holmans, Mace, Borges, Thorne. Subs: Poulsom, Saunders, Broomhead
