Wellington A 8, Bradninch 2
Our A team’s away league game v Wyvern was sadly called off due to a waterlogged pitch but manager Luke O’Hara was able to arrange a friendly against his old club Bradninch on the sandy 3G pitch at Cullompton.
Welly A used the match to give everyone involved plenty of game time and to get a look at new signing Ben.
The first four goals came quickly – the score being 2-2 – with three of them coming from mistakes but Welly stepped it up without really getting into more than second gear.
The game also gave ever-improving 16-year-old keeper Sullivan Harlow a chance to have a cameo out of goal with Brad Holmans going between the sticks and keeping a clean sheet in the final 20 minutes.
Goalscorers for Welly A were Rohan Poulsom (two), Jordan Sellick (two), Brad Holmans, Thomas Scarlett, Oli Ghazala and new boy Ben after an impressive 60-minute run out on left and right wings.
