League Cup: Wellington A 3 Creech Cougars 2
Our A team came up against a physical but brilliant footballing side in Creech Cougars for their cup tie at Castle School.
Creech came flying out the traps and went 1-0 ahead early on but Wellington slowly grew into the game and, from a quick throw, Aaron Merry sneaked in to equalise.
In the second half, Wellington continued to grow more and more into a game which Creech had dominated for large chunks of the first half.
The ever hard-working Merry bagged himself a second goal while Jordan Sellick got himself on the scoresheet, finishing off a well-worked team goal. Creech continued to play football and pulled it back to 3-2 but couldn’t find an equaliser.
Wellington progress into the next round where they will face the winner of the tie between Stogursey and Galmington Dragons.
Many calls for man-of-the-match as the whole squad put in a real shift.
