Taunton Saturday League division one: Fivehead Rovers 0, Wellington A 0
Following the previous week’s heavy defeat, this was a big game and all the players put in a great shift.
Wellington were easily the better team in the first half, creating several half-chances for Ash Saunders, Tom Scarlett and Luke O’Hara while looking very strong at the back.
More great work in at the start of the second half by Tom Scarlett and Aaron Merry going forward was then equalled by a great save from Jared Holder to keep the game level.
Unfortunately, lots of possession and great workrate couldn’t create that clear opening. More good work throughout the half saw shots from O’Hara, Merry, Saunders, Scarlett, Ashley Bright and Jordan Sellick all unable to make the breakthrough. That could have cost the visitors as Fivehead pushed forward towards the end to try and snatch a winner without success.
All in all, a great team performance, full of character and hard work – a well-earned point against a very good side.
