Friendly: Exwick Villa 2, Wellington 2
Our first team drew 2-2 away to Exwick Villa in their penultimate friendly in Exeter tonight (Wednesday, 14th).
We went ahead midway through the first half when Jamie Vaughan-Ryall headed home a cross by Rohan Poulsom.
And we then increased our lead around the hour mark through Jesse Howe, who produced a bicycle kick from Glen Wright’s cross.
Manager Tim Legg rang the changes throughout with all of his 18-man squad getting at least 45 minutes
Exwick – leaders of the Devon League’s North and East Division when the season was curtailed – hit back twice to earn a share of the spoils.
Legg said afterwards: “I’d describe it as more of a training game than a friendly and it was good to see some of the players on the fringes getting a chance to make their mark.
“From what I wanted to get out of it, I was buzzing afterwards.”
