Taunton Saturday League: Wellington A 4, Stogursey 1
Our A team went into this game with no defenders in the squad so manager Luke O’Hara and assistant manager Connor Porter played at the heart of the defence with young Izaak Letten and tough tackling Will Powell slotting in at right-back.
Welly played some fantastic stuff in the first half and led 3-0 at half-time with two goals from Reegan Scotcher and one from Thomas Scarlett.
After the break, togursey started to play and pulled a goal back. They continued to take control so the Welly management side switched to a back five to try soak up the pressure.
From a breakaway, Welly where awarded a penalty and Regan Scotcher slotted home for his hat-trick.
Five minutes remained and a little scuffle saw a second yellow for the Stogursey no8 and a straight red for Scarlett – very harsh indeed and a bit of dampener on what was a good game
Welly now have seven points from four games – the same amount as last year after nine games before Covid stopped play.
